Alfa 33 1.7 16V Anomalies by Luke Caddy

Back to the reviews index

Here are a few anomalies which I have come across with my 16v.
  1. The Alfa Romeo computer displays a red warning light for the radiator (I think, misplaced the manual). This usually occours when I drive for a few miles and then turn the engine off.
  2. For no apparent reason (engine hot or cold, speed fast or slow) the engine will shudder. This has only happend twice.
  3. Sometimes when the engine is cold if I rev the engine too high, when I stop the rev counter will hover around 2000-2500 revs. This did also happen once when the engine was up to optimum temperature on the motorway.
  4. When the front brakes are applied, a strange clicking noise originates from where the fuses are located. I presume this is the current flowing through the fuse but find it rather hard to believe that this is normal.
